"Is it time for school yet?"
Yes, the girls have gone back to school. They'll have 3 weeks off in September. Hannah was ready but Haylee wasn't too excited. She knows that this time next year is the beginning of middle school. I've tried to tell her to just enjoy being a 5th grader- the top dogs of the school! In fact, she came home the first day very excited about the opportunity to be on the morning news crew and wanted my help in writing an essay as part of the auditions. She desired to be on the camera crew and listed why she thought she could do the job, etc. She just found out yesterday that she made it! I'm very excited for her. It's a great chance to develop and show her leadership skills and be a part of a school group. (And it's no extra work for me!)
Both girls like their teachers and are happy with the friends in their classes. Hannah had a playdate with her long time buddy, Cole, on Friday. Afterwards, she went with Darrin to help his coworker move. While playing in the yard, she got over 40 mosquito bites just on her legs and was miserable all weekend, even giving up another playdate and swimming! Needless to say, I did send bug repellant but Darrin was too busy to notice it's need. I won't miss the smell of anti-itch potions as summer ends!

Man, Haylee looks like a mini-you in that back to school shot! I wish we had year round school here! I think it makes it nice to take vacations on off times of the year.
