Life Away From Texas

Darrin and I have discussed ideas to keep in touch with everyone since leaving Texas in September 2006. The blog thing seemed to overwhelm me and I certainly thought I'd need his computer expertise to get me into it. But the examples set by many friends told me that I must be able to step into the next stage of our ever-advancing technology. So, the next test will be if I can keep it up and post often!

It's hard to believe that we've lived in Apex, NC for almost 1 1/2 years! We love the beauty that surrounds us with the 6 story trees and easy hills. We love being close to the conveniences of life but not being in the busy city and we find a great Southern hospitality amongst the people (even though most aren't even from here!) Our family has met many wonderful friends here that have made the transition away from family much easier.

It's also great being around new places to visit that we would never have taken trips to from Texas. The first was to the Blue Ridge Parkway: it's a heaven on earth! Absolutely incredible scenes along this famous drive are just breathtaking, and I'm not a nature girl!

We also enjoyed a trip to Disney World. I'll post some pictures of it soon.

We are travelling to D.C. and Colonial Williamsburg and Jamestown over our Spring Break next week. Exciting!!!
