Harry Potter and Friends

Haylee finished reading all 7 of the Harry Potter books. I told her we could throw a party when she accomplished this feat, so I had to follow through.

We invited a few of her classmates over on Saturday for some fun. Most of them arrived dressed as a character. Someone even had a Nimbus 2000!! (a broom, for you clueless) Haylee dressed as Harry, with scar and all. Hannah was Hermione, with long, crazy hair. Preston was Ron.
They played H.P. Scene It DVD while I prepared a Great Hall feast. They chowed down on roasted chicken drumsticks, mashed potatoes, peas and "Polyjuice Potion" bread pudding with green icing (which only a few liked).

They also made edible wands by dipping long pretzel rods into caramel, white and milk chocolates. That was a HUGE hit. I'm sure each girl ate 4 or 5 of these.

We also played a game with Bertie Bott's Every Flavor Bean- jelly beans that have awful flavors, like ear wax, booger, dirt, pepper, rotten egg, and the worst- vomit.

We finished by watching the 5th movie: The Order of the Pheonix. Everyone got a chocolate frog as a party favor. It was a great celebration and I'm so proud of Haylee for finishing this reading goal.
